Process
1. Define "Villanelle"

Read and/or listen to the poems included on the page.
Respond to prompts 2-6 on your Villanelle Worksheet concerning the villanelles you've read.
3. Find a Song
Choose a song which, in your opinion, uses refrain in a similar way to villanelles.
Find the lyrics of that song on the Lyrics Site.
Respond to prompts 7-8 on your Villanelle Worksheet concerning your chosen song.
4. Think About Villanelles
Think about the villanelles that you have read/listened to and the connections between villanelles and songs that you have discovered.
Respond to prompts 9-10 on your Villanelle Worksheet concerning your thoughts and ideas about villanelles.
5. Compose a Villanelle
Download and print the Villanelle Form Worksheet.
